Grouped Filter Results

Grouped Filter Results

The Grouped Filter Results gadget offers enhanced functionality by calculating sums for multiple fields while organizing the source issues based on a specific custom field. Here's a detailed breakdown:

  1. Grouping Mechanism: The gadget allows users to select a custom field to group the issues. This means that all issues with the same value for this custom field will be aggregated together. For example, if you group by a "Project" custom field, all issues related to the same project will be grouped under that project name.

  2. Sum Calculation: Once the issues are grouped, the gadget automatically calculates the sums for designated numeric fields across all grouped issues. This feature is particularly useful for financial data, time tracking, or any other quantitative metrics. For instance, if you're tracking estimated hours for tasks, the gadget can sum the estimated hours for all tasks within each project group.

  3. Display Format: The results are displayed in a clear and organized table format, making it easy to view the grouped results alongside the calculated sums. This layout allows users to quickly analyze data trends and understand the total metrics for each category or group.

  4. Customizability: Users can customize which fields to sum, providing flexibility to focus on the most relevant data points for their analysis. This ensures that the gadget can be tailored to meet specific reporting needs.

  5. Use Cases: The Grouped Filter Results gadget is ideal for project managers, financial analysts, or team leaders who need to report on metrics across different categories or projects. It simplifies the process of gathering insights from large datasets by presenting the information in an easily digestible format.

Overall, the Grouped Filter Results gadget enhances data analysis capabilities by enabling users to view aggregated sums of key fields in a structured manner, facilitating informed decision-making.

  2. Set the number of rows per page: The second step involves defining how many rows to show on each page of your results table.

  3. Choose the fields to display: The third step is to select which fields will be displayed. Please note that the gadget only calculates numeric fields or those that can be converted into numbers, as described in our Supported fields section.

  4. Optional settings: This final step is optional. You can enable the gadget to automatically refresh every 15 minutes. Additionally, you have the option to group by name rather than by ID and to create links on the aggregated values that direct you to the corresponding list of tickets.
